Multi-disciplinary performing artiste, singer, song writer and electrifying stage diva.

Ayobamidele Aladekomo popularly known as Aduke came into limelight in 2012 during the Occupy Nigeria protest in Nigeria after she delivered a quick response with “hear the Voice” in song and visuals shot by the renowned Adetokunbo Odubawo popularly known as Dj Tee.

Prior to this moment, she had worked as a member of the enigmatic Crown Troupe of Africa led by Segun Adefila, a Dance- theatre company composed of young people using theatre as a tool for social and political commentary. It was while here that she formed her band SSV (Strings sticks and voices). In 2016, she finally broke off to further her career as a music performer and grow her band which became the SoundWagon.

Described as a consummate artiste by Femi Odugbemi, the Nigerian-British multidisciplinary performing artiste is also an art education enthusiast and creative entrepreneur who uses Music, dance, poetry and acting as means of expression, her command of the stage and music genius is topnotch.

Aduke blends her native language of Yoruba with English and pidgin English to deliver soulful and evoking renditions drawing inspirations from Yoruba folk music, jazz, neo soul, reggae and afrobeat.

In 2020, she released debut album “Peace and Light” Borrowing from highlife, afrobeat, pop music, Yoruba chants, and even reggae, Peace and Light is an exploration in the fusion of genres, but the gospel flair is the overarching aesthetic.

Hoisted by chants and poetry intermission, the nine songs dwell quite remarkably on praise and optimism. The praise is of a divine nature and it is this tendency that lends the album its overall gospel flair.

Yoruba panegyrics are rendered with thespian verve dubbed over airy live instrumentation on a generous clutter of tracks. Aduke wears her Celestial Church chorister experience rather proudly.

Besides divine praise, Peace and Light is concerned with the evolution of Aduke. This is the lyrical gist of a good number of songs where Aduke eloquently insists on the vicissitudes of life and her miraculous triumph. It is almost reminiscent of her pop music counterparts but not quite as laughable.

Aduke has performed at several notable and literary events alongside great artistes as Femi Kuti, Seun Kuti, Ade Bantu, Nneka, Ekow Alabi and Ebo Taylor,
