Ayobamidele Aladekomo popularly known as Aduke came into limelight in 2012 during the Occupy Nigeria protest in Nigeria after she delivered a quick response with “hear the Voice” in song and visuals shot by the renowned Adetokunbo Odubawo popularly known as Dj Tee.
Prior to this moment, she had worked as a member of the enigmatic Crown Troupe of Africa led by Segun Adefila, a Dance- theatre company composed of young people using theatre as a tool for social and political commentary. It was while here that she formed her band SSV (Strings sticks and voices). In 2016, she finally broke off to further her career as a music performer and grow her band which became the SoundWagon.
Described as a consummate artiste by Femi Odugbemi, the Nigerian-British multidisciplinary performing artiste is also an art education enthusiast and creative entrepreneur who uses Music, dance, poetry and acting as means of expression, her command of the stage and music genius is topnotch.
Aduke blends her native language of Yoruba with English and pidgin English to deliver soulful and evoking renditions drawing inspirations from Yoruba folk music, jazz, neo soul, reggae and afrobeat.
